Ghostbusters 3

Ghostbusters is a well known franchise which will instantly bring a fan-base to the film, to help with retaining its original audience the stars used in the film will be the original cast this will help to create a buzz around the film before any marketing campaigns have started.

The first trailer will be released on the 4th of July 2013, (independence day) this will launch the marketing campaign for the film and will be played for the first time in time square, new york. This trailer will then be made available on Youtube and the official Ghostbusters 3 website. the trailer will end will a link to the Facebook and twitter page which will be set up to give the audience different information about the film and allow the audience to comments about the film allowing for the word to get out.

A television campaign will be initiated a couple months before the release of the film, this will consist of the Ghostbusters' theme tune replacing the theme tune of popular television shows such as The Simpsons, Eastenders, The Big Bang Theory, True Blood etc. this will give a subtle hint towards the film, then after the television show finishes the Ghostbusters logo will be shown with links to the Social media sites.

The previous two Ghostbusters films will be shown on a variety of different television stations on the 31st of October (Halloween) this will build up the 'hype' for the new film. Halloween will be a big time for the film to attract an audience, Children will have the chance to dress up as Ghostbusters costumes as the costumes from the film will be made available to buy this will help with the merchandising of the film.

Different companies will become partners with the film and start to produce adverts with subtle links to the film for instance Pizza Hut will create an advert which consists of someone saying the Ghostbusters' catchphrase 'Who you gonna call?', another advert that will be broadcasted will be the 118 advert that uses the catchphrase 'Who you gonna call?', as well as the original 118 advert a new advert will be made which will show the 118 characters saying 'Who you gonna call?' but before they have a chance to say '118' they are ran over by the Ghostbusters car and the original cast get out and shout 'Ghostbusters'.
